Social participation and sustainability are the priority in the new city of Guenduláin

Description

Text

Social participation and sustainability are the priority in the new city of Guenduláin

The creation of a new city begins with a process in which institutional changes and social participation are essential. Guenduláin is a new city where SUSTAINABILITY is a priority; environmental studies are fundamental to develop a strategy for the area.

The Supramuncipal Sector Plan for Guenduláin is a highly complex project, which includes various aspects in its development. Territorial cohesion and urban management are the main concepts developed, along with the concepts of economics, in which viability, the sustainability of action, social welfare and development are studied in order to generate an administrative model which will be applied to the future city. The proposed layout places the emphasis on the creation of 'new urban centres' as a priority, the integration and mix of uses in a city where distances are reduced. The proposal creates different neighbourhoods each with its own personality.
