By means of a cross-border exchange regarding quality of life in public spaces according to the different practices of urban conception, this project aims to optimise the focus of cities to consider the human factor as an essential parameter in sustainable development. Comparisons are made between the different ways in which public spaces are used on either side of the border and the different planning methods in order to make assertions about our urban practices and give rise to innovative solutions for our neighbourhoods. The enquiries and observations resulting from these exchanges have led to the development of a series of recommendations applicable to urban development projects.
