DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABLE NANOTECHNOLOGY-BASED SOLUTIONS FOR ENERGY-EFFICIENT BUILDINGS
Innovative coatings have been developed for this project based on easy to apply and cost-effective nanotechnology, for the construction sector. This coating allows the improvement of energy efficiency in both existing and new buildings.
The overall objective has been achieved through the design of nano-functional coatings with high reflectance of infrared radiation or low emissivity, developed by sol-gel technology, based on nano-particles of doped metal oxides such as: indium oxide and tin (ITO), aluminium and zinc oxide (AZO), or tungsten oxide (WO3), with FSP (flame spray pyrolysis) production technology.
