DEVELOPMENT OF INDUSTRIALISABLE SYSTEMS FOR INTELLIGENT BUILDING ENVELOPES WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE IN APPLICATIONS IN THE CONSRUCTION SECTOR.
The aim of this project is to develop intelligent – dynamic, active, multi-functional and changing – building envelopes that react to the environment and respond to the needs of the end users. This objective is broached from five different angles related to building envelopes and their interaction: energy and the environment, materials, quality of life, industrialisation and ICTs.
The different possibilities were analysed for the development of intelligent building envelopes, based on the study of raw materials, processing methods and technical requirements (energy, environmental, etc.). Alongside the previous analysis, measures must be established that back up the competitiveness and efficiency of the building envelopes, based on the conditions of application (characteristics of the building, location, orientation, climate, applicable regulations, etc.). Finally, when the previous stages have been completed, prototypes are manufactured for intelligent façades and roofs, and an experimental study is conducted of the building envelopes from a thermal, physical, chemical and mechanical perspective.
